Michael C. Helmantoler is a Certified Business Continuity
Professional (CBCP) with over 14 years in preparing businesses to ride out
disruptions in service. He holds international certifications in continuity
planning and is a leader in the field in aligning business processes to
technology capabilities. He is sought out by organizations to help designing
and deploy database tools to manage business process resiliency.
Mr. Helmantoler is presently helping financial institutions and international
product distribution networks with business continuity management information
systems that contribute to the survivability during organizational disruptions.
Recently, he served as Chief Business Recovery Planning Architect for VISA/
Inovant where he improved the resiliency of the largest global payments
processing network through instilling business continuity as a core business
process. He initiated the global service catalog business impact analysis
process which included hundreds of interdependent business processes and
systems.
Prior to Visa he was a Senior Business Continuity Planning consultant with
Strohl Systems, a global leader in business continuity planning software. He
implemented and customized the Living Disaster Recovery Planning System) and
BIA Professional database management systems for customers.
His consulting career has included coordinating enterprise business continuity
planning; conducting risk assessments; assessing supply chain risk and
monitoring risks. He has worked with the US Congress, and four Federal
Executive Departments to improve crisis communications and lower operational
risks.
He holds a Masters degree in Communications from Brigham Young
University and is a
Certified Business Continuity Professional with the Disaster Recovery Institute
International. He is also certified in the Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
